XMR Labs Monero Wallet
Privacy Policy
XMR Labs is a non-custodial Monero wallet. The app is designed to operate locally on your device, and this policy explains the limited data involved when you use its wallet, node, camera, and price-display functions.
Important: The wallet is non-custodial. XMR Labs does not operate a wallet account service or hold your XMR. Keep your recovery seed private and backed up securely.
1. Who operates the app
The app is operated by XMR Labs Inc. For privacy and support questions, contact contact@xmrlabs.org.
2. Data processed on your device
The app processes wallet data locally so it can create, restore, unlock, synchronize, and use a Monero wallet. Depending on the features you use, this can include:
- encrypted wallet files, wallet names, seed phrases, private keys, public addresses, scan state, and transaction history;
- the separate app PIN and wallet-file credentials, stored through Android protected storage and the native wallet engine;
- selected node, synchronization, display, and other app settings;
- QR-camera input, used locally to read a payment address or amount after you choose to scan.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other identifying information through the app. We do not track your location, collect in-app analytics or usage data, use advertising IDs, or integrate third-party advertising and tracking SDKs. Wallet files, keys, and seed phrases are not sent to an XMR Labs backend. Android backup behavior is controlled by the installed app and device settings; the release configuration disables app backup.
3. Monero node connections
The app connects directly to the selected Monero node to obtain blockchain data, scan the wallet, and submit transactions you confirm. The node operator and network provider can technically see connection information such as your IP address, time of connection, and the protocol requests needed for synchronization or transaction submission.
Node operators are independent third parties. XMR Labs does not control their logs, retention, location, or privacy practices. Use a node you trust or operate your own node where possible.
4. Price data
The app may request XMR market prices or price history from a third-party API to display a fiat estimate. These requests contain the selected currency and requested price period, not your wallet address, seed, keys, or balance. The price provider and your network provider can see the connection IP and normal connection data.
5. Permissions and third-party services
- Internet: required for node synchronization and transaction submission.
- Camera: used only when you choose the QR-scanning feature; camera images are processed for the scan and are not uploaded to XMR Labs.
- Biometric authentication: used only through Android’s local authentication system when enabled.
The app has no account registration, advertising SDK, integrated usage analytics, advertising ID, or third-party tracking service. Independent node operators, price providers, the internet provider, and Android process data under their own policies.
6. Email and contact
The website does not currently provide an email-signup form or newsletter. If you contact XMR Labs directly by email, we process the address and message only to respond to your request and retain required support or legal records. We do not sell or share that contact request for advertising.
7. Retention and deletion
Local wallet files and settings remain on the device until you remove them or clear the app’s data. Removing wallet access can remove local credentials without necessarily removing an underlying wallet file. Always back up the recovery seed before deleting local data.
Node operators and network providers may retain connection data under their own policies.
8. Data security
The app uses encrypted wallet-file storage, Android protected storage for credentials, and HTTPS for remote Monero nodes. No software or network connection can guarantee absolute security. Keep the device updated and protect your recovery seed.
9. Children and changes
The app is not directed to children and does not require a date of birth. We may update this policy when the app’s processing changes. The version date above will be updated with material changes.
